The gate is constructed with a sturdy, fully framed design. We use 4x2 timber for the horizontal rails and 3x2 timber for the vertical supports, ensuring a solid foundation that can withstand daily use and weathering. This strong framework provides ample space for fitting hinges, locks, and bolts, making the gate as functional as it is attractive.
The standout feature of this gate is its convex (arched) top, adding a touch of sophistication to the classic picket design. The height of the gate is measured from the bottom of the gate to the highest point of the arch. The vertical picket boards are evenly spaced and curved at the top to form the smooth, flowing arch. This design offers a welcoming and traditional feel while clearly marking your property boundary.
As with all of our gates, the convex top picket gate is made from tanalised pressure-treated timber, sourced from sustainable forests. This treatment ensures that the gate is resistant to rot, decay, and pests, providing long-lasting beauty and durability.
All gates are made to the exact width and height you need.
To order firstly select the height you require.
Gates can be made lower than the height stated, so for example if you need a gate 160cm high- choose the 180cm height.
Then choose the width of gate you need.
Again gates can be made narrower than the width chosen, so for example if you need a gate 112cm wide- choose the 120cm width. Remember to take in account swing and hinge room. We recommend 15mm – 20mm.
Next select the hinge side, looking at the gate from the front. The hinge side determines the direction of the bracing at the back of the gate.
